Clothing Exchange

CLOTHING EXCHANGE!!

April 14 from 7-9pm at Jona Lorencos house. Everyone must bring the items that they want to contribute by March 31, so we have time to sort them. Below are all the rules. It is a great way to clear out old clothes and home goods and to get new goodies.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

PLEASE TAKE TIME TO CAREFULLY READ THE RULES!!! All items MUST be given to Sarah Elwer or Jona by MARCH 31!!

1.) Please do not donate any clothing that is really outdated. 10+ years would be outdated, unless it is a "classic," such as a nice sweater, scarf, or classic d...ress.

Please no camp t-shirts, Amateur Sports T-shirts, or other t-shirts with random sayings.

Nothing that has holes, missing/broken pieces, or stains (no armpit stains!). If you have something that’s nice with a slight stain, please contact me for tips on stain removal.

All items must be CLEAN and free of animal hair, because many families are allergic (and will be trying these items on!)

Nothing misshaped, over worn, faded, matted, or has overstretched elastic, etc.

2.) Books, music, movies, house wares, shoes, toys and accessories are acceptable that are clean, not ripped or damaged, and are in working condition. If you have a larger item you wish to donate, such as a baby’s swing or a furniture item, please contact Sarah or me in advance so a space can be cleared for it. However, large items are more than welcome and we would love to add them to the exchange!

3.) If you have a large amount of items to donate, please do so in a large plastic tub. If you would like the tub returned to you at the Exchange, you can mark your name on it. This helps keep things organized.

Everything donated, in bag or box, MUST have your name on it. If many of the items donated are not clean, we will kindly ask you to take them back home to wash them before donating. People will be trying some of these things on at the Exchange! Let’s be nice to them.

4.) Acceptable clothing sizes are all Men's, Women's, and Juniors sizes, including Maternity. All baby and kids clothes are acceptable up through size 12.

5.) Please NO bras or undies unless they are brand new. Swimsuits must be in “like new” condition, with all the matching pieces. **Socks may be donated if they are in good condition (no holes or stains), are with their 'pairs' and in a bag that is labeled with the size.**

6.) This is a private event, but you are more than welcome to invite a friend or two, as long as they understand all the rules!

7.) If you don't have anything to donate, but still want to come, please contact me orSarah Elwer. We want to encourage everyone to come, but we also want to make it fair to those that are donating.

8.) If you are not able to come, please do not ask someone else to *shop* for you. Too many people have abused the system that way. We want to encourage everyone to donate and come participate!

If you arrive early to the Exchange, we ask you kindly that you please wait to “shop” until the appointed time, in all fairness to the other ladies. Don’t forget your reusable bags to fill with your “new” clothes!

We understand that everyone is different, with different needs and different seasons of life, which might make it difficult to follow some of the rules, or even to organize and donate. Please understand that while we want to make things work well for you, the rules are in place for everyone’s overall good, and in the best interest of all. So PLEASE respect our rules and seek to be a blessing to others.

Please help us all out by praying for this Exchange and the people involved. If you need specific things, you can pray that God will provide them through the Clothing Exchange! Matt. 6:8, Phl. 4:19.

We hope to create another warm, fruitful event for each of you, so thank you for taking the time out to read the rules!! We hope you see them as our 1 Cor. 14:40 way of blessing the body of Christ - "All things should be done decently and in order."
